Well, where do I start? I'm usually the type of person who doesn't even want to conquer something unless I know that I can do it perfectly the first time, finish it with accolades and then admire it and be completely satisfied. Sigh. I guess you guys now see why I'm mostly an "ideas" person and really have very little experience putting my thoughts into action! I'm currently reading an amazing book by Donna Otto called The Stay-at-Home Mother. An insightful look at the ministry of being a SAHM, Donna really encourages and supports other stay-at-home mothers and those considering making this God-led choice. I'd planned to begin this journaling blog by commenting on some of the great things that I've gleaned from Donna's book so far, but, alas, it's 9:59 pm and I just don't have the mental capacity or time to do so right now, haha! Tomorow? Hopefully!
For, now here's the Verse-of-the-Day from Bible Gateway, which inspired me to begin this journal even if I didn't have a clear-cut entry already in mind:
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)
How great is our God! Not only does he love us, but he finds pleasure in us! He wants to care for us, make us happy, and surround us with His goodness. Our Lord wants to watch us as we awaken in the morning, finds gladness in the joy that we experience from a delectable piece of chocolate cake, and He holds us in His all-encompassing arms when we're tired and at our wit's end. Again I say it, how great is our God! If there is one thing that we need to take away from the verse from Zephaniah above, it's not that God loves us, not that He cares for us or wants us to be happy - it is that God is so powerful that He is able to overcome ALL! "The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save..." How great is our God!
